Searching in the Bohemian Census lists from 1880, I managed to find information about a few emmigrants from Czech to US. Most people from this area settled down in Chicago, Wisconsin and Minesota.
Some of them: Hruby Georg born 1858, Hofman Joseph 1861, Kohout Jan 1860, Kohout Barbora 1862, Simanek (Shimanek) Johan 1856, Simanek Maria 1861, Stefl Johan 1857, Sram (Shram) Simon 1857 to N.York, Toman Theresia 1860, Toman Martin 1862, Kohn Simon 1863, Kohn Rosalia 1858, Nejdl Joseph 1834, Masek (Mashek) Joseph 1865, Hrisny Maria 1863, Hrisny Margaretha 1865, Stauber Johan 1857, Stauber Maria 1859, Kahn Karel 1852, Trager Joseph 1866, Blahnik Anna 1862.
Are some of them your ancestors?
Tonyk.

Surnames: Novak, Warga (Varga)
Hi,

None of these people are in my family but I am looking for some of of family that I believe came from this area. My greatgrandfather's name is Micheal Warga ( Varga) and his brother is John. They both came over in the late 1890 to early 1900. I am also looking for a Theresa Novak. She also came over about the same time.
Could you please look and see if you can find any of these names?

Thank you,
Margo

Do you have any information on Joseph Nejdl born 1834 and his family. I am wondering if this is the ancestor of my friend who I am helping with research. There is a Joseph Nejdl in her ancestry and this fellow would be about the right age. The family first went to Chicago. Do you know if there is an immigration year and any family members listed.
Any help would be apprecitated.

Hi Christie
Unfortunately I have them not in my file. But it is possible they were origin from Parish Polyne and Slavikovice.
There are both surname common there.
All the best. Tony.

"My greatgrandfather's name is Micheal Warga (Varga) ... Could you please look and see if you can find any of these names?"

There were family death notices in the local German papers for a Mike Warge. The family then placed the follow-up thank you (Danksagung) to the local community where his name is corrected to Warga.

Some other names that crop up in my index of these papers are:
- Leona (Varga) Schmidt - Mrs. Joseph Schmidt (both Varga & Warga used in reference to Leona
- Johann & Maria (Kleppich) Varga -- death notices and an earlier wedding anniversary photo
- Michael John Varga (1 yr), parents Mike & Mary (Winter) Varga
