Surnames: Goad
My name is Nancy Goad Cooper, and I am just getting started on my Goad search journey. Please send me in any directions that can help me continue. Hand-written notes from my grandfather direct me to my great-grandfather Will T. Goad, b.3-11-1859 in Columbia, Maury Co., TN; married Sarah Mintie (last name unknown) 12-18-1889; moved to Dallas, Texas in October, 1892; d. 9-21-1924 in Dallas, TX.; buried in Lisbon Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Would love to find info on Will T.'s siblings, parents, and back. Where do I go next?

You have a tough one. U find a marriage record for Maury County as follows:
16 Feb 1890 - W,F. (clearly F. in the record) Goad married Mittie Beckum by W.C. Ratcliff, M.G.

In 1900 Dallas County, Texas, W.T. had two Beckham step daughters, Mattie 15 and Hattie 12 so Mittie was apparently a recent widow (or divorcee) when Will married her.

I find them in Dallas in 1910 and 1920. His recorded age varies. Chilfdren in 1810 were Will 19, Alice 17, Tilly M. 15 (Lillie in 1900), Hardy 12,

There were several Williams in Maury County born 1855 or so but some are W.T. and some W,J. so I cannot tie down parents for him. Any clues as to his siblinhgs ? A Goad married a Beckun back in 1843 in Maury.

I think I located your William T. Goad ancestry. He was likely the son of Newton Goad who married twice and fathered 21 children ! William's wife was Sarah Mintie KING.
It's late so I will get into this tomorrow.
