I am looking for any information on the Murphy family of townland of Collurus, Tuosist Parish, Co. Kerry. I have the 1901 census information on my grandmother's family and there were 10 children in the family. Most emigrated to the U.S. or England in the early 1900's with only the two youngest (Hannah who later married an O'Shea and Denis) staying behind. My Great-grandparents were Patrick and Hanora Murphy (nee Riney) born @1849 and 1855 respectively. Great-great grandmother was Julia Riney born @1821. The 10 children in descending order were Jerry (b. 1883), Mary (b.1885), Daniel (b.1886), Hanora (b.1888), Patrick (b. 1887), Julia (my grandmother, b. 1890), John (b. 1891), Maggie (later married a Sullivan, lived in the Bronx, b. 1892), Hannah (b. 1894) and Denis (b. 1896). The family house is still standing at the tip of the townland overlooking Kilmacologue Harbor although it has been deserted for 40 some years.
