George,
I have information on your family. I have been researching the Holden family of Dublin for many years.
I have four birth certs for children of William & Anne Cunningham.
They are: 1884 28 of May. William Holden of Wm. Holden and Anne of Glassvullaun District of Tallagh.

1892 22 Feb Anne of Wm Holden and Anne Cunnion? of
Ballinascorney district of Tallaght.

1895 First December William Joseph of Wm. Holden & Anne Cunningham of Ballinascorney. Tallagh.

1896 5th Oct Daniel Holden of Wm. Holden & Anne Cunningham of Ballianscorney

I have another birth for a Holden in the same area. It is for 1885 26 July Bridget ofWilliam Holden & Anne Quinn of Tallagh,

I hope this can give you more insights into the Holden family of Dublin. I have a lot of information on the Dublin Holdens.you may be interested in.

I am eagerly trying to research my mothers family, who were from the Dublin area. My grand mothers name was Annie and her parents names were William Holden and Ann (maiden name Cunniam/Cunningham.
I know they lived in the area of Bohernabreena at one time, ("The Waterworks).
Is there any possibility that your records may be connected to my GG parents? - My grand mother married Arthur William Baston of Letterkenny.
Regards
Annie

Here's the link to your Holden family on the 1901 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Tall..., and for 1911 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Tall....
You will note that on 1901 census, William and Anne said they were born in Wicklow, but in 1911, were born in Co. Dublin, so they were probably born on the border of both counties.
There are other Holden's on these censuses in both Dublin & Wicklow, who may be related.
Here is a link to the baptisms of 3 of the Holden children http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords.
And here is the marriage of William Holden and Ann Cuniam

Name: Anne Cuniam
Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1878
Registration district: Rathdrum
Volume: 2
Page: 857
FHL Film Number: 101253
(same details for William Holden, so a match).
If you get this cert, it will give the names of their parents.
There are Holdens in Wicklow, according to Griffiths Valuation http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation. One of them might be William's father, or at least a relative.
Happy hunting!
Colette
