Anyone familiar with the Harrison/Rust farm? Would have been located just south of Spring Lake off of Hwy I and Century Dr. . It might be on Arbor Dr. today.

Thanks,

John

That area has all been subdivided. What time period are you looking at?

Spring Lake is located in Sections 4 and 9 of Mukwonago Township.

In 1890:
Charles Rust was farming in Sections 9, 12 and 22, 289 acres.
William Rust, farmed 40 acres, Section 27.
H.C. Harrison estate was in Sections 9 and 12, 11 acres.
Mrs. Mary Harrison held 40 acres in Section 10.
Edward Harrison, Section 2, 84 acres.

I do not find either family in the Mukwonago or North Prairie Cemeteries.

Thank you for the info. I'm a RAOGK member helping a Harrison family member from out of state. Apperently HC and Mary Harrison were buried at their farm ( info from Mary's death record). My thought was, after all these years and with land being sold, did they move the graves, to where, who knows.

John

From 1938 to the early 1940's the Waukesha County Historical Society did a cemetery/gravesite search, there is no mention of burials on the Harrison property or of any burials in that general area or of any graves being moved from the site.

I know there are cemeteries that get lost with time. The markers misappear under grass and trees sprout up covering all signs of burials. Maybe this is one of them.

Thank you for your continued interest. Do we know who owns the property now?

No idea who holds the property now. It would take some research at the library and Court House.
