Hello,

I am trying to find information on Thomas RICE who was in the Kentucky Land Grant book for Wayne County, Ky. for having one grant of 50 acres on Kennedy's Creek, Wayne Co., Oct. 30, 1822. Also he had another grant of 50 acres in the Wayne Co. book on Elk Spring Creek, Wayne Co., Dec. 30, 1822. I need to know who his wife and children were.

Thanks,
Charlotte

My Thomas RICE married a Mollie (unknown last name). I knew that this one can't be the same one that I am looking for, but I thought that maybe it could have been some relation to him. I am not sure if mine ever lived in Wayne Co, or not. Please let me know if you know if there was a Joseph RICE in this line.

Thanks,
Charlotte

Here is a marriage from Vol. Two of Wayne Co., KY records by June Bork, page 99 -

RICE, Thomas and Susan BAKER. Surety, William BAKER. Bond dated 17 January, married 20 January 1825 by William Summers.

Thomas RICE does not appear in the Wayne Co. Censuses after 1830. There is a handwritten note in Vol. Two that a William RICE, who m. Jane (Jean) BAKER in 1808 is in the 1850 Clay Co., MO Census, p. 48. A bread crumb, perhaps, on the trail of Thomas Rice.
