Have traced Dayhuffs in Ohio censuses to 1840.Think maybe they came from Maryland but am not sure. 1940 Carroll Co, Ohio father is Henry. Could find none with this spelling in MD.

Richard: Do you know the ancestry of your Philip who migrated from Maryland to Carroll County, Ohio? Specifically, his father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, etc?

I have very little in the way of proof beyond
Philip. What I believe is this, Philip had
a son named Abraham that settled in Greene
County,IN with a Frederick Dayhoff. He was
mentioned in Fredericks will. A few other
items make me believe that Philip and Frederick were brothers. The Decendants of
Frederick have Nicholas down as the father
of Frederick and Philip. I have nothing beyond that.

Greetings from Minnesota,my name is Brad. On my wife's side of the family tree, there are Dayhuff's. Peter Dayhuff was listed in the 1850 census for Londin Twp.,Carroll County, Ohio as being 17 yrs. of age and worked as a farmer, was born in Ohio, and would be a great great grandfather to my wife. Peter's father is listed as Joseph Dayhuff, and he was listed as being born in Maryland. Joseph was listed as being 53 in the 1850 Ohio census, and Sarah was listed as his wife, and she was listed as being 55 yrs. of age. Sorry to say,I do not have any listing of siblings of Joseph, but I do have a listing for siblings of their son Peter. Philip may be a brother to Joseph,I just do not have that info to make a 100% connection. Brad Gabrick
