I have relatives with the last name of Petty in Texas, from down around Mexia (Pronounced
Muhair) Texas. His name was James Hudson"Tom" Petty.Born in 1890's died around 1967. I don't know any other info at this time.

Your pronunciation of the town is incorrect. It is (Ma-he-a)both a's are short vowels
