Looking for the parents of Joseph A EADS born about 1780 and died 4/12/1853 in Mason Co. Married Juda DOSS who died before 1850. Had a daughter Judy Virginia EADS born about 1806 who married David WALLIS 1800-1878. Judy and David had lots of kids. Looking for siblings of Judy. I am trying to connect Joseph Eads with the EADS of Monroe Co and Kanawha Co, especially Carlton/Colton EADS(1780-1856), Abraham EADS and WILLIAM EADS, all sons of Samuel EADS of Maryland.
Do you know if Joseph Eads and Juda Doss had a daughter "Sally" who married John Gardner? Sally was born about 1805 in VA per census records. She married John Gardner in Mason county in 1834. Thanks for any help!
I have information that Joseph A Eads and Julia (Doss) Eads had a daughter Sarah b. 1817 and married John Gardner in Mason county 9/13/1834. Is my Sarah, your Sally? Are we researching the same family. Do you have more information?
My gg-grandmother is MARY EADS, b.28 July 1814,who married RICHARD BUSH, b. 30 June 1814, and who are the parents of my g-grandmother: Priscilla (aka"Permelia") Frances "Fannie" BUSH. Are Joseph Alford Eads and Juda/Julia Doss the parents of my Mary Eads?
Joseph Alford Eads and Juda/Julia Doss had 8 children, 7 living and 1 deceased. James, Judy, Thomas, ?, John, Mary Ann, Sarah, and William. All were born I believe around Mason County WV. Any information to confirm would be welcome. Would like to know where parents are buried, or any other information.
Ironically I have an ancestor on the opposite side of the family that married a McDaniel. Do you have any information for James A Pope (b in Eng.) that married Julieanne McDaniel in Chariton Co, Mo. July 31,1863?? Any information is welcome.
HI! I'm sure this is the same family! I have John Gardner and Sarah "Sally" Eads having a daughter Martha "Patsy" Gardner, born about 1850. She married James McDaniel on 5-23-1872 in Mason county. I have info on my McDaniel line, but not much on the Eads or Gardner lines.
Hi! I'm sorry but I only have info on McDaniel for Mason county WV.

To Mary & Debi,
My sincere thankyou to my "new cousins" for all the information provided. Several interesting items have been mentioned in these posts. Joseph Alford Eads and Julia/Juda (Doss) Eads were my GGG-grandparents. Their son Thomas Joseph was my GG-grandfather and his son Joseph Thomas was my G-grandfather,(notice reversed names) and his son James H. was my grandfather. I have received more information from this post than anywhere before. I'd like to continue this thread. Now I realize my error in looking for bits and pieces in WV not realizing that state bounderies could have changed and some may have had roots in Va. The Mason Co WVa. Eads are these folks for sure! I will try to add more notes as I have bits and pieces of dates etc. I would like to find out if anyone has information as to where Joseph and Julia may have been buried. I have heard of Pt. Pleasant somewhere along the way. Does that ring a bell with anyone? Would also be interested in knowing more about the book. I too am relatively new at researching and have only had the information I have because of a 2nd or 3rd cousin. Let's keep working at this! We can surely add more leaves to our tree!
Richard BUSH & Mary Anne EADS
I went back thru my papers on the EADS and found an excerpt someone sent my cousin from THE EADS OF MASON COUNTY/The Descendants of Joseph Alford Eads and Judah Doss, which I believe was written by Heidi EADS, living in Indianapolis: Also included was a family lineage which shows:
Joseph Alford Edds (Eads)b.1780 Ireland or Va
m. Judah(Julia) Doss 27 Sep 1802 in Pittsylvania Co.VA
Joseph's parents are listed as Thomas EADS and Elizabeth ALLFORD, m. in Campbell Co., VA.
My mother's research shows RICHARD BUSH and MARY ANN EADS' children as follows:
Cornelius BUSH, b. 20 July 1833
Josiah Bush, b. 12 May 1838
Sarah Ann Bush, b. 11 Nov 1839
Mary Jane Bush, b. 20 Mar 1841
Judith Elizabeth Bush, b. 14 Aug 1841
Sophia Emily Bush, b.26 Jan 1846
James R. Bush, b.17 Mar 1848
Jacob H. Bush, b.24 May 1850
Olive Adareen Bush, b. 21 Nov 1852
Priscilla Frances Bush (my g-grandmother)b.3 Nov 1854
Caroline Bush, b. 6 Feb 1857
Richard H. Bush, b.23 Dec 1859
Samuel Bush, b. 1867
I have no dod's.
I am relatively new at this, so I apologize for not being on top of this information.
Yes I believe we have a connection here. My records indicate that Mary Ann was born in 1814, and since the other children were born in Mason Co I would think she was as well. I also show that Mary Ann maried Richard Bush Oct. 4,1832, but do not know where they married. I also show that Julia/Judah Doss (Mary Anns mother's father's name was Thomas, but have no other information. If you have more information I hope we can share.
