Hi! My great-grandmother's name was Martha Johnson (1871-1842). She married Howard Wick. I know Martha and Howard lived in Gloucester County, NJ. Martha's father's name was HENRY, but I don't know anything else about Henry. There may have been some connections with Wilmington,Delaware. Would this fit in with anything you have? Thanks for any help.

Gail: The Henry Johnson that I have was born in 1824, however my research has not revealed a daughter named Martha.

Celeste: Thank you for your response. Do you know if maybe your Henry (1824) had a son also named Henry? If so, it would be possible that your Henry was the GRANDFATHER of Martha Johnson. If so, that would explain why he had no daughter named Martha. Were they from Gloucester County (Hurffville area)? When did he die? Would be interested in hearing back. Incidentally, in the newspaper she was listed as "Martie M." Johnson, daughter of the LATE Henry Johnson, and she was married in 1893. E-mail is, if you prefer. Thanks again. Gail

Gail: Henry Johnson died in 1909. He had no son named Henry. This Johnson lines begins in Sussex County, DE and then migrates to Kent County, DE, on to Cumberland County, NJ and beyond. Based upon the information I currently have, I don't think we have a connection.

Seeking information on parents and siblings of my paternal great grandfather, Frank Johnson, who moved to Gloucester County, NJ from Delaware shortly after the Civil War. He married Elizabeth Somers around 1870-1873. They are reflected in the 1880 census as residing in Greenwich Township.
