This James Walker had the following family:

. ELIZABETH1 WALKER was born August 1777.

Children of ELIZABETH WALKER are:
i. JESSE2 WALKER, b. October 10, 1792; m. ELISABETH ROBESON; b. July 10, 1818.

Notes for JESSE WALKER:
Thought to be the Jesse Walker jailed in Rogersville for stealig Gabriel McCraw's steer, jumped bail, twice eluded recapture by 2 professional trackers. (According to one family source, Jesse is believed to have settled in Hamilton County and farmed, was on the 1850 census, with wife Elizabeth, and 3 children at home - not proven)
Source: Andra Walker Moskowitz

Notes for ELISABETH ROBESON:
Elizabeth, John, and Nancy Robison were listed at the end of the James Walker Bible, after mother Elizabeth and children from Jesse born 1792 to Charles born 1817. Unsure why it was thought that Elisabeth Robison was the wife of Jesse. The way the children are listed in the Bible, it appears that mother Elizabeth could have remarried to a Robison and had the last three children, with the exception that the first Robison child was born only 10 months after the last Walker child.

I am interested in the John Robison in the James Walker Bible. What information is there about him?

Also do you know anything about Ellen Jane Walker who moved to Missouri and married Isaac Newton Garrett in1874?

Sorry I can't help you. All I know about John Robison is the fact that his name showed up in that bible with his birthday. I have spoken with the oldest living descendant of that family and he said that his grandfather Walker became upset and absolutely forbid anyone to speak about the Walker family history whenever the topic came up. I don't know what he was trying to hide, but all the decendants I have run into have all been outstanding families.

As for Ellen Jane I don't recall seeing her in my records, but if I find something I'll leave a post.

Could Jesse Walker's wife be Elizabeth Dotson?
In the Chancery Court mintues of Greene County, Tn a land dispute between the heirs of Reuben Dotson and his uncle Charles Dotson's family lists that Charles died in Hawkins County and was survived by his wife, son and 3 daughters. One of the daughters is listed as Elizabeth, wife of Jesse Walker. It also states that his wife and daughters and their families all moved to Alabama. Since Charles and his wife Barbara were married in 1791, Elizabeth could be of the right age.
I am a researcher in the Dotson family and a descendant of Reuben.

Jesse and John would appear to be old enough to have been the father of the last three children attributed to Elizabeth. Does the bible explicitly state these are Elizabeth's children?

Just curious about your connection of the Allen Walker from the 1860 census of Sequatchie, TN to the Allen Walker in the James Walker bible. Considering the age listed for Allen in the census would put his birth at abt 1816 and the bible shows 1813, this is maybe an error on the census data(all of the census data being tied to this Allen Walker show different birth years). The previous census year 1850 from Scattering, Marion, TN is probably the same Allen (transcribed as Alien). This means that Nancy, not Barbary was probably the mother of the children you are listing with the exception of Missouri V. Perhaps someone can help debunk or confirm that these two censuses are for the same Allen?

Name: Alien Walker (Allen)
Age: 37 (36 if b Dec 1813?)
Birth Year: abt 1813
Birthplace: Tennessee
Home in 1850 (November 4): Scattering, Marion, Tennessee
Nancey Walker 36 F b NC
Joseph Walker 15 M b TN (Joseph Jesse Walker?) Barley Walker 14 M b TN
John Walker 11 M b TN
William Walker M 7 b TN
James Walker 5 M b TN
Nancey Walker F 4 b TN

Not sure who Nancy is but would love to see a marriage record or some other evidence of her family and Barbary's for that matter.

Other evidence that Barbary was not the mother:

William in 1900 census of Upton, Texas, MO lists Barbary age 72 as step-mother. William never lists his mother's birth states (SC or TN) as the same as Barbary's (GA or NC).

Also - Mila in the 1860 census is believed to be Milo or James Milo who was killed in the Civil War.

The Allen associated with this William and Barbary we believe is the one buried in Wright, MO but there are no dates on his grave just Co. A 6th. Tenn. Mtd. Inf. William is buried in the same place with Co. A 6th. Tenn. Mtd. Inf. on his stone too.

Still not sure however that the Allen that went through Marion/Sequatchie/Hamilton TN to Wright/Texas MO is the same on from the Hawkins, TN bible.
