Jane Topping in Ireland/UK

Classification: Query
Surnames: Topping
Trying to locate my g g grandmother Jane Topping. Was married to James Burns/O'Byrne. James may have been born in County Cork. They had a son named James Burns about 1811. The son James was born at sea and came to Australia and married Mary Shaughnessy in Campbelltown, NSW in 1863. Before marrying Mary, he had been married before, no known info on that.
If anyone has any info, please contact me.
Appreciate all help.

Two places for records of birth for Cork

www.irishgenealogy.ie and an Irish History Foundation
www.rootsireland.ie

Burns is anglo-irish spelling and Byrne is Irish.

Women disappear in records due to marriages.

Was Jane in Ireland too or the UK, where were the parents James Burns/Jane Topping going for James to have been born at sea, as it doesn't sound as though they were all headed to Auz?

Is there an early census in the UK? The earliest the birth records for Jane Toppings on www.freebmd.org.uk is 1839
and marriages from 1837.

4 Byrnes, Parish's Churchtown, Dunmahon, Glanworth, Kilnamona and 21 Burns in various parishes

Looking to what names he gave his children for clues to his parents names. That might help.
