Surnames: Kearns

My name is Melanie, I am coming to Cork for a holiday in the summer and I am in search of the Kearns family, my great great grand parents were called Richard Kearns and Catherine Sullivan, according to my records they had 4 children that I can find, Nicholas William he is the one that came to Wales my great grandfather, as far as I can see the other children were Mary 1865, Sarah 1867, Catherine 1868.
Does anyone have any information that can help with my family tree and anything that will make my visit worthwhile.
I do have some Churches to visit where events have occured. Would love to find out more.

Hi on this link

There are 6 children

Catherine born 1859
George born 1862
Mary born 1865
Nicholas born 1858
Sarah born 1867
Catherine born 1868

This is the main church you should contact

Ss. Peter & Paul's Church

Also in 1851 there was a William Kearns living in Paul Street Cork

Also I found this a marriage in 1767 from same parish

1767, 28 November: William Kearns, master builder and architect of Cork, son of William Kearns, married Jane Plaince. (Cork Chronicle, 30 Nov 1767) (IAA)

Not sure if the last two William Kearns are any connection but all within same close area of the City to your family.

This is amazing, this will certainly make our trip worthwhile, there is so much information in those records, you have absolutely made our day with this.
It will help to start piece together the family from Ireland.

Thanks very much

Its possible that this is George Kearns one of their sons his age slightly off in 1911 but could be him (age fits in 1901) this could be wrong also he may only be distant relative of your family

Wonder could this be the mother Catherine a widow in 1901

And her again in 1911

Hello Gerard

Thanks once again for more information, I am looking through the records, the Catherine you suggest could possibly be the one as she certainly fits around the age at the time of the census.
Great records.
