Christy, I am assuming that you know that John and "Ellen" Jane Clark's tombstone photographs are on the internet atwww.rootsweb.com/~lanatchi/oldkcem.htm
(Mrs. E. J. Funderburk, Oct 22, 1845 - Feb 25, 1936 - "A kind mother and a true friend". John Clark's tombstone. "John Clark and E J Tundrburk was married Aug 30, 1866 and moved to La, 1866 in Oct"
My family knows her as "Ellen" Jane though I see references to Ellenor or Eleanor. Her brother, Joseph Columbus Funderburk, is my great-grandfather. We have lost track of the motivation of the family to move to Natchitoches Parish in 1868 but it appears that Ellen Jane moved with her husband in 1866 and then when her father, Joseph Green Funderburk, died in Mississippi in 1868, her mother Martha then moved the family.
Do you have any additional information about the earlier Funderburk family or later, for that matter? I will be glad to share what I have. Glen
