Looking for Mary Jane Campsey who was born 27 July 1843 in Ohio. Her parents may have been John Campsey, born abt 1823 in Pennsylvania, and Priscilla (mnu), who lived in Morgan County, Ohio in 1850. Mary Jane married at least twice: 1) to Benjamin Yates Penn in 1863 in Missouri, and 2) Dory Kinnaman in 1881 in Missouri. (Dory was my great, great grand uncle). I am interested in her children with Dory Kinnaman, and am also interested in the surname Yates Penn, if that combination is a surname. Another of my ancestors married a Yates Penn. Jim Kinnaman

This website has some info on the marriages of Penn/Kinnaman. I don't know whose website it is, or if there is a reliable source for the information, but it could at least be a starting point. It looks like Benjamin Kennaman married two daughters of Benjamin Yates Penn. One was Grace Martha Penn and the other was Jessie Yates Penn.

Benjamin Yates Penn is my 3rd great grandfather. I don't have anymore information on Mary Jane except what you have. It seems there is a brick wall!!

Thanks for the information and web site. I will save the website. Since I sent my first message a couple of years ago, I have learned more about the Kinnaman/Campsey/Penn connections. And even though it is tempting, I think I'm not going deeper into the genealogy. I was unaware of the Grace Martha Penn marriage to Ben, however. I have photos of Benjamin Kinnaman and Jessie, and one of Dory Kinnaman and Mary Jane Campsey Yates Kinnaman. I also have photos of Dory's and Mary Jane's three daughters. Also of Ben and Jessie's children. My great great grandfather Peter J. Kinnaman was also involved: he and his wife Ann took one of Dory's daughters to raise after Mary Jane's death in 1886 in Missouri.
