Anyone on the Garramone Board/List researching Joseph P. Garramone from Anzi, Italy. Joseph was the son of Rocco Garramone and Rose (Bellattiari) Garramone. Joseph married Christina Dragonetti both from Anzi, Italy. Joseph was born ca. 1841 Anzi, Italy died 06 Jan 1926, in Hazleton, PA, but buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Philadelphia. Children were Angela Maria, Rocco, Rose and Mary.

I read your old message regarding garramones in hazleton. i'm research Scatton(e) and Castrignano (Castrina) in same city. Salvatore Garramone sold property to my greatgrandfather Francesco (Frank) Scatton(e) in 1896, on Carson Street, where my grandparents, father, and aunts and uncles all lived. PS: I lived in Hazleton until age of 14. Remember the name Turse well...and may have gone to school with one or more of them in 1950s.

Salvatore is my great great grandfather. I've found him in an intent list (to become a citizen) and seen my grandfather Joseph Garramone to have taken communion at a local catholic church. What I'm curious about is how (I just haven't figured it out yet) we are tied into a whole other line of Garramone in the same area like another Joseph and his wife Dragonette who had kids Rocco, Rose, and Mary. I also haven't been able to figure out Salvatore's wifes maiden name. Her name is Marie Grace.
I don't know much about Salvatore other than that he was born in Italy and he died in Hazelton in 1940. I'd of course love to know more and would be glad to share what data I have about his descendants.

thanks for your note. i'm away from home right now, but as soon as I get back to NJ, where I live, I'll look through my Garramone records and get back to you. i'll be very interested to see if anytthing that I have can be of help to you. I have, by the way, found many vital records for Salvatore and other Garramones on microfilms of Anzi vital records (1809-1910) which I have on reserve in PRinceton, NJ, from the Family history Center of the Mormon Church.
