The Granato coat of arms is officially documented in: RIETSTAP'S ARMORIAL GENERAL. The original description of the arms (shield) is as follows: "D'AZUR A UN GRENADE D'OR, OUV.DE GU.' TIGE EN BAS (SANS FEUILLES)." When translated the BLAZON describes the original colors of the Granato Arms as:" BLUE, A gold pomegranate with a red opening, the leafless stem to the base."

Granato Immigrants: Erie Society for Gen Research, compiler. Erie County, PA, Naturalizations, 1825-1906. Francesco arrived in Pennsylvania in 1892. Pg. 48.

We ordered The World Book Of Granatos. It is published by: Halbert's Family Heritage.

I hope some of this helps you. I looked in the book and there is no ISBN so that you can order it. If you have any questions write me at: granatos@cccomm.net
