Hi

My G2grandparents are an Alexander SCRIMGEOUR and Mary MCROSTIE/MCCROSTIE.
Alexander died 5 Nov 1863 in Methven, Perthshire, Scotland aged 57 years and Mary
died 18 Dec 1889 in Methven aged 88 years.

I have 9 children born to them from 1833-52
as David, Alexander, Catherine, Daniel, James, William, Mary, James and John.

John (b 3 Jul 1852) in my Ggfather. He
went to New Zealand with his brother Alexander and I have descendants of these 2
boys but I have nothing further on their siblings. Also, I do not have parents or
siblings for my G2gparents Alexander and Mary so if anyone can link my G2gf Alexander
(bc 1806, from age at death) to parents etc.
I would be most grateful!

I haven't yet found a marriage date for Alexander and Mary so there could be children born before David in 1833 - perhaps a further son and daughter if they've used the traditional naming pattern.

Hi! I have just come across a William Scrimgeour from Methven in my geneology research. He was the son-in-law of my great-great-grandfather. My records show that this William Scrimgeour was married to Jessie Dewar. Would you know if that's the same William Scrimgeour in your records?
