My grandma, Mary Wieland Simonik, had a sister named Katherine Wieland, who married Ardrey V. McGuire, and had a son, Martin (unmarried). Their parents were Veronica Mayer and Jacob Wieland. Jacob Wieland came from Demischwaar, Hungary. Veronica Mayer came from Munich. They cames to the US about 1903. I think they lived in Stiemark, Austria, before coming to America. They settled in Elberta, Al., about 1911. Some family mesmbers settled in Chicago and Philadelphia. Katherine and Ardry lived in Pensacola. Other siblings were Veronica,(Sam de Paola }, Theresa(Fred Hagendorfer), Anna(Anton Hagendorfer). Do any of these names sound familiar? Kathy Simonik Bevier

Hi. I just found out about the Weilands being in my husband's family history. My husband's grandfather just passed away, (Charles Hagendorfer) of Elberta, AL and while at the cemetary I got some info. I found Charles' parents, Fredrick Hagendorfer and Theresa Weiland graves as well as Theresa's parents, Jacob Weiland & Veronica. Do you know whether or not Theresa & her sister Anna married brothers? I notice you listed Anton Hagendorfer as her husband. We are just starting the Hagendorfer history and I have some info. and dates and would love to share. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Anissa NW Florida

My grandmother,Theresa Weiland, married Frederick Hagendorfer. She had a sister, Katherine Weiland, that married Ardrey Voil Mc Guire on Jan.28,1921. The other sisters were Anna,Mary, and Veronica. There was one brother named Frank George. He was born March 13,1899 in Hungary. He died in Chicago,Illinois on April 23,1973. The parents, Jacob Weiland and Veronica Meyer-Weiland came to the U.S. about 1907. Frank's wife name was Helen. I do know they had at least 7 children. That information came off a prayer-burial card. Also,he was buried from Mt. Carmel Church.

I doubt you're still looking but my maternal grandfather's name was Neil Curtis Wieland. He had a brother (Velor?) who we never saw much of. He apparently drank a lot. I'm hunting down my Nutter ancestors. There is a legend of someone coming to KS on the orphan Train.
