Does any one know how the Wilkinson's fit into the MacDoanld clan and where were they all from?

Good question. Actually, the Wilkinsons have no affiliation to the MacDonalds in any way. It is strange that so many "Clan Websites" and the like claim they are, since the name is English/Lowland Scots.

Do you know where the origination of the Wilkinson came from? I was told we are of Scottish decent. How did the name Wilkinson get group w/the MacDonald's clan if we are not part of this clan. I went to the anual Scottish Highland games here in Washington this year and went to Clan Mac
Donald and found the Wilkinson name as a sept of the MacDonald clan. Any info you have would be helpful. Thanks

Wilkinson is an English/Scots Lowland name. I have no idea how many of these names were associated with various Clans. For example, the myth that the English name "Sanderson" is somehow connected to the MacDonells/MacDonalds of Glengarry is widespread, despite there being no recorded instances of anyone of that name being connected to the Clan. Much genuine research needs to be done on this subject; this false data is misleading people.
