I have a fairly well documented tree of the McGlothlins of SW Virginia. However, a couple branches of that tree don’t fit with known McGlothlins. These seven persons probably have some connection to the known ancestors, but the link has not been established. Welcome any comments or feedback on the origins of these families. Thx in advance

I am looking for info on Isham and Elizabeth Surratt. I was told that they are listed in a McGlothlin family bible. Do you have any idea where the bible may be? I believe your Corintha is descended from them.

My maternal grandfather was Leonard William McGlothlin. We know he married my Grandmother, Della Viola Howard-Phoenix around 1908. We knew he had a sister or relative by the name of Minnie McGlothlin (we think it was McGlothlin anyway) who lived in Missouri. We believe she may have been married to Joseph F. McGlothlin. His first marriage was to a Bertha J. Belcher-Johnson. We don't know when Lennie (as he was called) was born, but he died around 1916 in a railroad yard accident. We're not sure which railroad he worked for or if he was working in Kansas City, KS or Kansas City, MO. He left Della Viola a widow with two children: Dora Mary Ellen McGlothlin, born 1909, and Muriel Maxine McGlothlin, born 1913. If you have any information at all about him, please contact me!

I don't know if this is any help, and I doubt it is of any relevance to your search. But I live in bloomington, IN and my last name is McGlothlin. My grandpa's name was Robert "peewee" McGlothlin and my grandma's name is Delores McGlothlin. My grandpa's dad's name was John McGlothlin and I think his mom's name was Mary, though i'm not quite sure. Any info or anything would be neat. thanks.

McGlothlin 305:
I will look at my McGlothlin line and see where I come up with. My McGlothlin grandfather was born of George W. & Ellen McGlothlin. I don't know Ellen's middle or maiden names, just that she was born in 1854 in Knoxville, Ray, Missouri. George was born about 1845 in Ray Cty, MO to Thomas McGlothlin born in 1807 and Mary (Polly) Starns born 9/11/1811 in Virginia and died in Ray Cty, MO 8/3/1875. Polly is rather well researched. Thomas & Mary aren't listed as having a child named Robert. Thomas was married to a Bessie Ives prior to Polly, but I haven't found evidence of any children born of that union.
There has been an individual who has checked out my site ... I've written that person on behalf of us both, but I left out your name in case you didn't want it known. Should I hear from that person, I'll let you know. That line had the places you mentioned and the names I have as well as one I've never been able to get any info on up until now - maybe. I love the internet!
Happy Holidays ~ Niki
