I am trying to find the maiden name of the wife of James Brisbane, Amelia. They lived in Fond du lac county, WI. I have found census showing their children and the Brandon cemetery showing their deaths, but her maiden name is not shown. I have also looked up on the marriage records but haven't found them. Any ideas?

Your message is an older one, but I hope you are still following this board. James Brisbane was my great-great-grandmother's brother. His wife was Amelia Glendenning. Are you related to the Brisbanes?

Thank you for the response. I had forgotten I had posted that. My grandmother comes through Margaret Brisbane, she was a Turnacliff.
Do you have the poem that William Brisbane wrote on their 50th anniversary? It talks about James not being there. It sounded like he and his father had a falling out. Do you know if that's true?
Anyway, I would love to share any information or photos if you're interested. Thanks again!

Kathryn! I've just been looking for you, believe it or not! A bunch of the Brisbane descendents are planning a big gathering next summer in Waseca county, Minnesota, and I was going back through old notes...came across something that mentioned I got it from you...you were in Minneapolis at the time. There are other Turnacliff people coming (Robertons and others) - would love to have you come, too. e-m me directly (velett@comcast.net) if you'd like more details. I do have the poem, and also wondered about their relationship. However, I have found other mentions that James visited Minnesota many times and was well known to the county, so I think it just might not have worked out to travel so far in January.
I have learned more about William's parents and grandparents, too. Would love to share!
