This is a search for owner of music store in the
area during the mid 60s.
I believe a relative owned this business and may
have run it out of their home.
Her name, if memory serves me was either Francene,
or Angeline. I think that she was noted as a accomplished musician herself.

She would have been born about 1910-1920 time period.
A son Roderick died sometime in the 80's.
I know she was related to our family
as we visited her during this period.
Also at this time their was a beauty shop on the
main street that I believe was owned by her
daughter Joanne who was married with children.
Married name I believe was Mac McDonald??
She may have been a McRae or McDonald and I suspect
had ancesotors in the Glengarry area.
I know this is limited in information but hope some
of the details will be familiar to someone who might
help me.

Hi Annie,
There may be a Criss Cross Directory : Hendersons/Wigley etc - These can be searched by Name this shows address -and sometimes occupation.
Can be searched by Address - this will show names of all persons at the location.

Searching City Directories/ Telephone books for Music Stores [there are probably not to many to search] may show names.
Perhaps there are Volunteers at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - Alberta -
http://www.raogk.org/alberta.htm
who may be able to help.

Claresholm City Hall/Municipal Hall - may hold business licenses etc - perhaps they may assist.
Happy New Year 2009 - Cheers, Stella

Hi Stella:

Thanks for you various suggestions that I will try.
I met the family so many years ago (mid 60's) and
really wasn't too much into genealogy at the time.
Most of them are gone by now.

Have a cousin who also met them who told me she
was an accomplished musician however he to has forgetten
the names/connections over time.

I live in claresholm and am working from memory.

I used to hang out with Rod{the son) tho he was some older.

His dads name was Les Cookshaw....possibly Lester

and i'm tending towards angeline for his mom.

I can remember being in the house store as a kid

(glassed in veranda and living room displays)

with the sounds of music lessons coming onto the street.
