I'm not sure if I'm related to these Petty's but this is all the info I got and you might already have this...

James Petty married Susan M. Rodgers on 7/20/1876 in Crenshaw Co. AL bk b pg. 245

James was b. 7/1850 in AL and Susan was b. 12/1850 in AL.

They had 4 daughters according to the 1900 & 1910 Census Crenshaw Co. On the 1900 census they had Frances' name written down as Farmer

Lucinda b. 8/1883
Emma b. 4/1888
Frances b. 3/1889
Georgia b. 6/1891

on Crenshaw Co., marriage index it shows:

Mary Lucindy Petty married Zed L. Armstrong on 4/16/1899 bk e pg. 352

On the 1910 census w/ James there is a grandson listed as Edward Armstrong b. 1905 in AL. Family #206 dist. 64 sheet# 11B

I hope this helps. I would like to know if you happen to have any info of a Andrew Jackson Petty, Sr. who married a Martha (Mattie) Melton or Milton. His children are:

Howard H. b. 6/1883 m. Alice Reeves
Marvin b. 5/1886
James Oliver b. 9/20/1888 m. Silvia Mitchell
Andrew Jackson, Jr. b. 1/6/1895 m. Ellie Lee Sasser
Beulah b. 6/1890 m. Frank Potter
Elvie b. 7/1892

Thanks in advance
Tracy

I noticed this was written over 10 years ago but Andrew Jackson Petty was my Grandfather. I would love to meet other Petty relatives in Alabama. If there is any body reading this that could be a relative, please e-mail me on here. Thanks, Linda Petty-London
