Where can I find the history of Wallsburg? I am interested in an old book, possibly titled "How Beautiful Upon the Mountains", also interested in corresponding with William Madison Wall(Elizabeth Penrod) descendents and descendants of James Davis or John Davis.

The Wallsburg cemetery has 33 Walls names but no William or Madison; 30 Davis names but no James or John; 6 Penrods, but no Elizabeth.
There is an Ellen E. Penrod, b 3-18-1848, died 5-6-1925, wife of Abraham Penrod who was b 7-12-1844, and died 12-26-1893.
Hope this helps. I have names and phone numbers of people living in Wallsburg who might help. Contact me by e-mail. There is a FHC in Midway that covers Wallsburg.

I have a copy of Mecham's William Madison Wall, but think more ought to be available on him. If any one has any information on William Madison Wall, or of the book, "How Beautiful . . . " ( a History of Wallsburg), please let me know. I would like to pull together whatever information is available and put together a new and more complete biography. Any photos would help as well. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, I am very interested in the History of Wallsburg and am hoping you can help me out. I am first interested in Seeley Owen and his family, who moved to Wallsburg between 1870 and 1880 to help the town out. I am especially interested in his son, Seeley Owen Jr., who supposed got into trouble and may have ended up in jail. I am wondering if he was involved with Wilbur "Bub" Meeks as they are around the same age. Also Seeley's daughtre, Hanna Owen who married John William Gilson, died in Wallsburg on 11 Aug 1872, would there be any kind of obituary available?
Thanks so much, Arlene Waters, Los Angeles, CA
