Martha, I really don't have very much. My ggrandfather, Charles T. McNess b 1877 in Boyd, Harrison Co., Ky. He is the son of Isaac Newton McNees and Martha J. (Mattie) Clemons. I would like to find out who his family is. I know that Mattie is the daughter of Thomas Clemons and Hariett Smith.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Susan

I am not sure we are from the same line, but I suspect we may be related. I am looking for information about my great-great grandfather Dr. William T. MCNEES who was born about 1819 in Kentucky. My great-grandmother was his daughter Pauline Baltzell MCNEES born Dec. 4, 1854. On August 1, 1877 she married Sherwood FISON b. October 18, 1852. She died Jan. 19, 1916 and is buried in Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Any information you could provide about them, ancestors, and descendants, where they attended school etc. would be greatly appreciated. I think Pauline Baltzell MCNEES’s mother may have been a BALTZELL, so I am also trying to determine if there is a link with a BALTZELL family who lived in Cynthiana. I am also interested in any information on Pauline's Baltzell MCNEES’s children:

William Cornell Fison 1879 - 1898
Roger Baltzell FISON 1881 - 1961
Mary Edith FISON 1883 - 1935
Percy Lewellynn FISON 1885 - 1960
Lucy May FISON 1887 - 1948
Paul FISON 1889 - 1890

Sincerely, Susan R. Fison, Anchorage, Alaska

Susan,
Do you have any other information on Dr. William T. McNees? Who his parents were, who he was married to?
I will check my files for the Baltzell line.

Thanks, Susan

W.T. MCNEES was born about 1819 in Kentucky and the 1880 census records indicate born his parents were born in Kentucky. He served as a physician in the Civil War. I don't have any information about his parents. I believe he had two wives: Mary and Sarah L. I don't know which wife was the mother of my mother Pauline Baltzell McNees.

I now this is an old post and I may have spoken to you before. I am sure that your Dr. WT. McNees is from the Abraham line( brother of Alexander) son of John and Jane Jackson McNees settled in Harrison Co. Kentucky in 1796. I am beginning to organize my McNees data since I retired, and would be glad to share what I have collected over the past 30 years. I have all of the John McNees data of Long Beach Cal., including other data that I have collected over the years. We have had a few of this line show up at our annual McNees reunion over the past 30 years.

I am very interested in discussing the information that you have. Last year, for the first time, I visited Cynthiana, Kentucky, Berry and the surrounding area. I worked with a local genealogist. Based on some information we found in wills, he believes John McNees may have come to the area because he fought in the Revolutionary War and was granted a tract of land (1,000 acres?) along the Licking River in an area which eventually became the state of Kentucky. I don't have names before John McNees who died in Kentucky about 1804 (I don't know when or where he was born) and all I knew about his wife was that her name was Jane, she died in Kentucky about 1819.
When I was in Kentucky I took photographs of the grave of Dr. W.T. McNees, office/home (downtown near courthouse) etc. I am also looking for information about the first wife of Dr. McNees--Mary E. Porter who was born about 1826 and died before 1860. I live in Alaska. Please feel free to call me at 907-243-7837. Thanks, Susan Fison
