Dear Godfrey,
YES! I have this ancestor in common with you. Thomas Perrot was my g.g.g. grandfather! Here is my research on Frank (my g.g.g. uncle):
The info I have is that Frank married Harriet Reeves in Shepton Mallet 25 Dec, 1848. They had 5 children that I have been able to locate, but there could be more.
Emily Jane Perrott born 1850
Eleanore Lavinia born 1852
Edwin George born 1858
Gilbert Thomas born 1862
Frank Henry born 1865
Thomas and Martha moved to Birmingham in 1830. They had 3 more children who were born in Birmingham (perhaps more). As far as I can tell their children were all raised in the Birmingham area, Frank was the only one that returned to Shepton Mallet. I do not know why Thomas and Martha moved to Birmingham, but there are a lot of Perrotts there so I presume they had family there. I do not have any record of their deaths.
Hope this helps. Do you have anything on Thomas's father, also a Thomas, who married Hannah Shutt in Hill Farrence on Sept 25, 1774? I would be very interested to hear about their children. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Best Wishes,
JO

I am in New Zealand, but the date and place of marriage you have for Frank & Harriet matches the info I have. My great-grandmother was Ella Rushton (nee Perrott), daughter of Frank and Fanny. Percy Rushton (my great-grandfather) came to NZ in 1909, and settled in Tatuanui (Waikato), which is where he met/married Ella.

Thank you very much for getting in touch. Could you tell me who your parents are and who you are. I think we may be related!

Ido not know if I ever replied to this - 5 years ago! If you are still on this contact please reply and then I can respond in more detail to your research on the Perrotts. In short though, the Perrotts never moved to Birmingham as far as I am aware. Thomas died in Jan 1838 in Shepton Mallet and Martna died in Shepton Mallet in June 1875. They had 9 children: John, Eliza, James, William, Rebecca, and another Rebecca (the first died as an infant), Elizabeth, Henry, Francis (Frank). They were, according to my research, all born in Shepton Mallet. But if you have proof otherwise I will be fascinated to hear it. You say that Frank and Harriet had Frank Henry born in 1865. I say he was born in 1855! I look forward to hearing from you.

this is what I've worked out:
Thomas Perrott m Martha
> children: Elizabeth, Henry, Francis (Frank - my great, great, great grandfather), ?Rebecca (there are probably other children not listed)
*Francis (Frank) m Harriet Reeves Christmas Day 1848
> children: Emily Jane, Eleanora Lavinia, Frank Henry (my great, great grandfather), Edwin George, Gilbert Tom
...then they emigrated to NZ, where Albert James, Alfred Herbert, and Arthur Ernest were born
*Frank Henry m Fanny Susannah
> children include Ella Perrott (my great grandmother)
*Ella m Percy Rushton (my great grandfather - came to NZ in 1909 and settled in Tatuanui, Waikato, which is where he met Ella)
> children: May, Fanny/Violet (died as a newborn), Zilla (my Grandma), Grace & Eunice, Clif, Joyce, Ella, Trudi, Percy, Pearl (I might have some of those out of order!)

Hi Katherine
You are my 3rd cousin once removed.
I know Percy Rushton amd Joyce. They came to my 60th birthday party when I visited NZ last year.
Did you go to the family reunion he organised? And have you seen his book Wholesome Heritage?
I also wrote a book on my father's life called Restless Soul - that has a full history of Perrotts in it.
Kind regards
Godfrey

yes, I was involved in helping organise the "Rushton Reunion" (almost exactly 2 years ago now). I would be interested in the book you wrote - any suggestions on how I would track down a copy (does Percy have one)?

thanks
- Katherine

You can get it on amazon.com - search by Restless Soul Godfrey Bell - it usually appears about 7th in the list. However, I THINK I remember that Percy has one.
