I can't believe I have a heard from a descendant of Lydia and Albert. My grandfather was their oldest child, Albert Knuth. I and Cheryl are researching the Schinkes and would love to share information. I also have quite a bit of info on Lydia and Albert. Let us compare.

Sorry, I do not see Caroline listed as part of the Schinke family I'm related to. The children born to John and Charlotte Schincke of Prussia, imagrated through Canada in 1860, to US in later 1860/early 1870's. I'll keep your note if I would come across anything I'll send note. Good luck in your search.

My great grandfather was Frank Schinke and was from prussia as well. He was born in 1870's, and I cannot for the life of me find out who his father was. I know he was born in Germany and was a blacksmith in southern Wisconsin.
I know it's a longshot, but I have to try. My grandmother, his daughter, has passed away recently, and can't find out any info from her. However I do have a very old German bible passed down from her family, that has names and birthdates that I need to check out yet. Thanks for any information you may have. Good luck in your search as well.

I am a descendent of John and Charlotte Schinke who emigrated from Prussia between 1845 & 1850. They settled in Canada and then between 1865 and 1870 they moved to Nebraska, Cuming County, West Point Twp. They had 13 children and one of the younger children was named Frank. He was born in Canada and I found him working as a farm laborer at age 14 in the 1880 census for Cuming County, West Point, NE. His est date of birth would be 1866. I have no additional info on him in Nebraska so he may also be your Frank. Please respond directly to my E-mail address, so we can see if my Frank possibly moved to Wisconsin. The Schinke family disbursed to many states so
we could be researching the same person.
