Hello Lisa: Does a Maurice Sim (Aberdeen) fit in anywhere. I have seen the actual gravestone in Toronto, Ontario Canada so I know he actually existed but cannot find anything else, anywhere else. b. 1988, d. May 17, 1930 age 42. He married Flora Cockburn from the Aberdeen area (my maternal grandmother). Can't find anything about her either.

Janice (Woodstock, Ontario, Canada)

Have tried pretty well everywhere I can think of. His name has a strange spelling so will be looking for Morris as well. I apparently was born on his birth date which is why my middle name, Maurine, is spelled that way.

Thanks for looking.

Janice

This is somewhat convoluted, but perhaps it will make sense to you...
Death 1887 Fraserburgh ABD:
Samuel Esslemont NOBLE 1 mth, s/o John NOBLE and Mary Sim NOBLE maiden surname: ESSLEMONT.
They may fit in my tree but I haven't sorted them yet.

Hi Pat, thanks for replying to my message. It's always nice to get a reply. I don't think these are the relatives I am looking for. The DOD is probably about the time when mine were being born. Sherry

...I was thinking they're likely of the same family, though not necessarily the same family group/generation. While the Nobles and Sims intermarried lots, Esslemont/Essleman is a bit unusual.
What means nothing now, often means something later
cheers
