who was Josiah's father. He enlisted with a brother Jonathan from in Goshen in Litchfield co.

Bryan, I am a decendant of Joshua Sweet. I have information about Joshua Sweet and his father and mother. His fathers' name was Josiah Sweet born 1748 in Woodbury and he married a women named Elizabeth born 1752 in Woodbury Connecticut. Joshia Sweet was also a captain in the War of 1812 and served with the Connecticut Army. Joshua Sweet born 07/03/1774 died, 02/15/1850 in Depeyster, NY married Mary Hurd born 12/28/1774 died 7/24/1853 in DePeyster N.Y. The also had another son Josiah born 2/20/1776 died 1/29/1880 named after his grandfather and also had a daughter named Julia born 10/23/1794 The second Josiah Sweet moved to Wisconsin and served in the 37th Wisconsin Infantry Company G. He was discharged as a private. His allegiance was with the Union. He is Joshua Sweet's father

I am an ancestor of Joshua Sweet. His father was Josiah, born 1748, married Elizabeth, born 1752, all born in Woodbury Conn. He would have been my 4-great grandfather.
Joshua married Mary Hurd and they had five children, Julia, Josiah, Polly, Maria and Hiram.
