Has anyone switched to Legacy from Brother's Keeper? Does it import all of your events with dates, sources, and notes intact and correct?

Thanks,
Lomane

Hello,

yes, I just bought Legacy 7 and tried to import my data from Brother's Keeper. I have encountered two problems. The first one is that all the events "baptism" are not in the central page for the persons, but put into notes ... I'm still looking for a way to change that for all my database. I really don't want to have to change it one by one ...

Also, the help file has disapeared ...

How about you? any particular problem?

I must not forget to say that I am using Legacy in french. Maybe some of my problems arise from the difference in the language ...

Lucie,

You may want to use the following link to subscribe to the Legacy User Group. It is very active and you will probably get some answers to your questions:

http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp

Wish I could be of more help, but have never used Brother's Keeper software.

There are some gedcom tags that Legacy does not recognize. Those are made into notes. I could not get my photos transferred because Brother's Keeper did not include the links in the gedcom.

On the import dialog, there is an option to change baptism to CHR
per page
