Does anybody know anything about this lady, resident in Florianigasse in Vienna, 1916. She may have fostered my Uncle whose mother was Beatrice Martha Harrod.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
I am afraid I do not speak German, so I have been unable to understand a lot of the web pages you listed.
I have previously found the Grottenegg family history. is there anything in these references about the Countess Mary in 1916?
Thanks,

Robin

no i could not really find anything about her.
but maybe you ask Hans Pawlik jr. of the carinthian nobility site if he has info about her. this question must be free and if he knows about her he makes an offer so you can see what it would cost and if you would like to pay for this: http://www.genealogy.at/english/kontakt_eng.htm

otherwise make attempt at the heraldic-society EAGLE in Vienna. i have no idea if they can give answer about her: http://www.adler-wien.at/wDeutsch/index.shtml

ask also at the AustroArchiv.com. you can post about there: http://austroarchiv.com/joomla/component/option,com_contact/...

Hello,

have you ever looked at our online phone directory at www.herold.at ?

There are 4 entries for Grottenegg, 2 of them in Carinthia where the family had some roots and 1 from Vienna. They might well be related, and could possibly provide you with more information.

Tilman
