Hello,
I wonder if your Elizabeth might have had a brother who had a son named John J. JAMES who might have also immigrated to the U.S.? My John J. JAMES was in Iowa in 1880 age (was a few years difference between 1880 and 1895) giving a birth around 1849. One son said the father was born in Illinois but the Iowa census states all three times plus thoes links to the DONALDSON family that he was born in England. It has been hard to find anything relating to a place for the immigration papers and also can't locate him in 1870 in America. He did marry in Kossuth Co Iowa in 1880/3 circa....have the record in my files. I believe he died before 1900 or shortly after.

Thank You,
Linda from Washington State
