Surnames: LE MARCHAND, BILLET
I am hoping someone may be able to help me interpret an Attestation (in French) from the above records, dated 1696 (file attached). It consists of the names of married couples, followed by the letters "pd" or perhaps "ps" and the name of a city or country. The entry that interests me reads as follows: "Jacques Le Marchand et Percide Billet sa femme pd Hambourg". I have no idea whether them were heading for Hamburg or had arrived from there! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

You could mail the Achive of Amsterdam and ask what those letters mean:
e-mail to: informatie@stadsarchief.amsterdam.nl

regards,
Jettie
