1) Searched my geneal. book on British in Uruguay= 0
2) Searched www.familysearch.org= only Henry Dixon Sparks, born 1868, Queensland; and Henry Joseph Sparks, born abt. 1881 in Queensland.
3) Checked "Montevideo Australia ship Bernard" = Found the "Bernard" Migrant ship arriving in Port Adelaide (1851-1855) which departed for Singapore (newspaper source May 3, 1853).
4) Searched the Perth DPS Pioneers and the rest of Australia= 0
5) Searched site of Martin Romano Garcia, with extensive British ancestry= 0

Hello Naomi....perhaps I can help. Henry York came with his father Henry P G Sparks who was a merchant in Monteverdo..HPG Sparks's father was a naval surgeon during the Napolionic Wars....I have some further information if you require....cheers...John Sparks
