Seeking information about the Dahle family of Clarion Co., Elmer married Jenny Kennemuth. I don't have much information beyond that. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much.

My GGrandfather, Allison Dahle, was Elmer's brother. I don't have a lot of data on them. I do know their parents were Clemons Allison Dahle (1846-1909) and Matilda Swartzfager (1849-1912). They had one other brother, Homer, and a sister, Jessie. Elmer was born in Shippenville so I assume that's where the family lived. I've walked through some of the cemeteries in Shippenville and have found some Swartzfagers but none of the Dahles.

My Dahles are from Clarion County also. I would gladly share info. There are a few headstones in Shippenville

Debbie,
I hope you're still out there. Somehow I missed your reply to my post. I would love to know which cemetery the Dahles are buried in Shippenville. I live about an hour from there and would love to look up the tombstones. I have some info on the Dahles going back to Peter, Sr. b.1794.

Yes I am still here. Ther are a minimum of 26 Dahle/Dales listed in Clarion Co. that are not in the boroughs. I have not thoroughly checked the cemetery at the intersection in Shippenville, however I have checked every stone in the cemetery down the hill behind the Lutheran Church, which I have pictures of. Most of the Dales are at the top left as I remember. I should have written the rows down..sorry. I only live 5 miles from Shippenville. If you ever come in this way I could meet you at the Historical Society and gladly share what I have. Once amonth I see Sally(Dahle) Summerville who is in her 90's and still has a sound mind. She is the grand-daughter of Thomas T Dale. Let me know how I can help. I descend thru Philip, Jacob, then Lavina

Debbie, When you refer to "the cemetery down the hill behind Lutheran Church", are you talking about Mt. Pleasant/Pleasant Hills Cemetery or do you mean the actual Lutheran Cemetery in Shippenville? I only live 7 miles from Shippenville. Would love to get together to compare. I descend through Peter, Peter, and Clemons Allison.

Hi Debbie,
My Dahle line runs Philip, Peter Sr., Peter Jr., Clemens, Allison, Harry C., (my grandfather). My grandfather's parents apparently split up when my grandfather was very young and I can't find any information about Allison Dahle other than that he was born around 1870. I've walked all over the cemetery at the intersection in Shippenville but somehow missed the one below the Lutheran church. I live in Mercer County and do get over that way occasionally--but not in this weather!
Jay

Connie,
email me at adam-joseph@usachoice.com and we will compare notes and find a time to meet. The Dahles have been one of my more difficult lines to research. Thanks
