I just read your letter posted on ancestry.com on December 2nd 2000. It caught my attention because Florestine D'Amour was my grandmother who died of a stroke in the mid 1950's. I too have been curious about this line of my family and was searching for information on Theophile and Marguerite D'Amour, who would be my great grandparents on my fathers side, when I came across your posting. If you were successful in finding out any information, I would surely appreciate anything you might be prepared to share.

Question - re: Theophile D'Amour m. Marguerite Bourassa

Did you look on the Willow Tree (Aboriginal Site)?
I have been told that Theophile D'Amour is my great-grandfather, and my grandfather was George D'Amour.

What is your connection?

Sandy

Hello Deanna and other "D'Amour's"
My sister, brother and I are the descendents of George D'Amour. His daughter Edna was our mother. Our Aunt Edith is still living and has some memories to share as well.

We have been tracing the family back to about 1730 on Marguerite Bourassa side, but are looking for information on Theophile D'Amours.

Looking forward to hearing from any D'Amours

Theophile D'Amour was my great
grandfather and is buried in Prince Albert, Sask.
His son George was my maternal grandmother and was born in 1873 and died in Prince Albert. I,too, would appreciate any information you would have on Grandpa George's brothers and sisters

It is my understanding that Theophile died in 1898. Our family story is that he was bringing logs into Prince Albert and slipped and was either drowned or died of pneumonia shortly thereafter. His wife Margaret Bourassa we couldn't find any informaiton on death. They lived in Prince Albert, many of the children within a few blocks. My grandfather, George, cared for the gravesite in the old Catholic cemetary for many years. Unfortunately, vandals have destroyed many of the gravestones in the cemetery. My one living aunt (who just turned 100) says she chose many of the names of George's children. Who did Florestine marry and where did they live?
