FTL Still in Business??

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows Vista. My old computer "shot craps" so I had to reload the software I had and thankfully I had loaded my one side of the family into my external harddrive. Unfortunately, not sure if GenCircles is compatible with Windows Vista. Everytime I log in, I get the welcome screen asking if I want to retreive my data from realtime internet server. I do, but when it finally does load, then I try to access a family line it is very slow or does open at all. I end up having to shut the program down and starting all over again. Feels like a but or it's just plain not compatible. All attempts at asking for help with Family Tree Legends have gone unanswered. Can anyone help???
Thanks!

Do a search on the web, especially google groups. I ran across something which indicated that FTL put themselves up for sale middle or so so of last year.

You can now get FTL for free.

Many people have posted problems like your (in other places).

I tried FTL recently. I was looking into free apps so that I could share my research with my family (something that would let them see the info in a user friendly format, for right now I'm recommending they use Legacy 6.0 Standard, which is free).

I too have not found support needed. I found another software maker called family tree maker. it also uses gedcom files and perhaps you can transfer your information into that program. www.familytreemaker.co

Maybe I'm a little late with this info. I had successfully transmitted (by GEDCOM) from Family Tree Maker to Family Tree Legends. I am now using Ancestral Quest of which I am very happy with.

Family Tree Legends was bought out by MyHeritage Ltd. They've now incorporated the SmartMatching technology into their new software, Family Tree Builder. You can read about it here:

I can thoroughly recommend Family Tree Builder. I was evaluating using Family Tree Legends. I installed FTL on my laptop,it ran once, then when I went to use it again it would not run under Vista. I emailed FTL with the problem, and they replied that they knew about it and were working on it. I was informed if I did not want to wait I should try Family Tree Builder. I'm glad I did!
The only drawback is their message boards. They take ages to answer. I have been waiting for about 3 weeks for an answer to some queries. They did answer one by email, but am still waiting for a reply to others.
Apart from that it is an excellent program. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!
