I just read the marriages for Waller Co.
I know who the first three are. F. A. Bowles is Frances Adalina Bowles, my great-grandmother. Sallie and Julia are her sisters.
Who are Jeptha Bowles and J. H. Washington? The dates are all close together, so that they could be sisters or cousins.
Anyone have any ideas?

F. A. Bowles m. S. F. Stoutsenberger 11 July 1878
Sallie Bowles m. Green Marshall 30 Aug. 1875
Julia Bowles m. M. J. Whatley 14 July 1875 (Should be M. F. Whatley)
Jeptha Bowles m. J. H. Washington 6 Aug. 1879

Your query raises a question regarding my search: Do you have anyone in your Bowles line by the name of Ras/Erastus, b. ca. 1860?

No, I don't. I'm sorry. Can you tell me more about him? His parents, siblings, spouse? Maybe with more clues and connections, it might ring some bells. But right now...nothing. If you tell me more and give me permission, I'll post your query on the Bowles list for you.

Parents unknown (I'm trying to find them). Born ca. 1860 in Texas; married about 1880 or so to Ann Lee in Hempstead. Divorced; married Mary Stewart (my great-grandmother) in Hempstead ca. 1889. Some records have surname as Bowles; by 1889 consistently spelled Boulds. Commonly went by Ras. Employed by H&TC Railroad, perhaps purchased or was given property by an H&TC heiress. Any help is much appreciated!
