I'm looking to know if anyone knows anything about Thomas Carew's family before he came to North America. I have his wife and their children's names, but I know nothing of his parents, or any other family. A cousin of mine went to Ireland some years back to try to find some information about the family, but whether it was due to no one knowing anything about the family, or if they just didn't want to talk about it, we're not sure. We think it is the second option because when she would ask people about the family, they would go from being friendly to not wanting to speak. Any information would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows something.

I have a Carew ancestor that came from Ireland with his family. His children were
Edward, Eleanor, Mary, Ann, Margaret Bridget, and Sarah.
They settled in Charleston SC, but I know they traveled up and down the coast. I believe my ancestor had a brother in NC, and may have had relatives in MA.

What was the name of your ancestor that came that had those children whose names you mentioned?

My ancestor is listed as John whose wife was Mary.
