I never thought I get excited about receiving death certificates in the mail! I've a few more pieces in my puzzle.

Looking for any info (marriage, parents, anything) for -

Johnathan MCNEIL married Matilda MCKEEHAN, parents of David MCNEIL (b.21dec1856,d.24apr1935)

David's death cert says birthplace for parents is KY. David died in Barbourville, Knox County.

Decateur JACKSON married Fannie TURNER, parents of Elva Jackson MCNEIL (David's daughter-in-law). Carrie Jackson BUCHANAN is their daughter, Elva's sister. Possibly either Knox or Whitley county.

I have a few more pieces of the puzzle.
McNeil, David 15 May 1880 5 Sep 1969 s/o John.
David McNeil is the son of John T. McNeil (19 Sep 1854,1932, buried in Floyd Cemetery, Knox Co) and Mary Floyd (also buried in Floyd Cemetery). John and Mary had four children, Gertie, David, Dorie B., and James. Gertie married Ernest Perkins. David married Lucretia (Creasy) Evans (15 May 1884, 12 Sep 1943).

Johnathan McNeil and Matilda McKeehan had seven sons and five daughters. They were all born in Knox Co. Their names, date of birth and spouse are:
John T. McNeil. 19 Sep 1854, Mary Floyd
James (Jim) McNeil. 1 Sep 1855, Rhoda Bowen Gentry
David (Big Dave) McNeil. 21 Dec 1856, Sally Evans
Henry C. (Big Henry) McNeil. 28 Oct 1860, Nanny Shelton
Samuel B. McNeil. 20 Apr 1858, first wife was Caroline, second wife was Polly Rogers.
Sarah (Sally) McNeil. 5 Dec 1862, Duane LeForce
Eliza McNeil. 5 Dec 1858, Speed Gatliff
William T. (Bill) McNeil. 28 Jun 1871, never married.
Martha McNeil. 28 Jan 1876, William Smith
Olivia (Ollie) McNeil. 4 Jul 1877, James Smith
Ben McNeil. 5 Mar 1880, first wife was Susan Catherine (Katie) Rapier, second wife was Elizabeth Hill

Ben McNeil and Katie Rapier are my grandparents. Their oldest daughter Rachel McNeil is my mother. Rachel McNeil (10 May 1906, 20 Nov 1995). My father is Alex C Harp (30 May 1907, 28 July 1979).

I was told as a child that my grandfather Ben McNeil was the seventh son of a seventh son. He is the seventh son of Johnathan McNeil and Massa Matilda McKeehan. Johnathan McNeil is the seventh son of John McNeil (25 Dec 1790, 6 Jul 1873) and Mahalia (Mahala) Tuggle (6 May 1797, 20 Oct 1872). I don't know the names of the other children of John and Mahalia. I have not been able to go back any further in the McNeil line.

Matilda McKeehan's parents are James McKeehan (1806, 1891) and Elizabeth Black (b 1813). James McKeehan's parents are Benjamin McKeehan(3 Mar 1780, 4 Feb 1867) and Mary Hickey (23 May 1781, 11 Jun 1862). Benjamin McKeehan is said to be the first McKeehan to migrate from Scotland to Kentucky. He came from Scotland in 1790. He and his wife are buried at Craig's Chapel Cemetery on Meadow Creek, Whitley Co, KY. They had 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls. I have not been able to go back any further in the McKeehan line.
e McKeehan line.
