I have been doing research online via digital archives, but have hit a brick wall with an Austrian ancestor from Vienna. The registers for that region have apparently not been digitized, so I will need to find somebody who can personally go to the archives. Has anybody hired professional help in the area? I have communicated with a few genealogists that I found on the web, and am not sure they are the right match. Any recommendations?

These are highly professional people and they all speak and write excellent English. I have used their services myself and have been more than satisfied. They were recommended to me by one of the archives in Vienna who did not have the manpower to carry out my research themselves.

Thanks very much for the response. I have looked at http://matricula-online.eu/ and found some useful information. I am now in need of digital indexes for Vienna - not sure which parish, unfortunately. Am I correct that Vienna isn't yet digitized?

You are quie correct, only one parish in Vienna itself is online, Unsere Liebe Frau zu den Schotten which is right in the centre of town.
