I would like to ask the author of this message, (chapman) a question. How are you related to the spillers? My great grandmothers maiden Name was Spillers and she married into the chapman family.

Hopefully it is the same family

I am researching William H. Hawkins b. 1813 in Greenville Dist, SC married Bethany Cochrum in 1938, Have a lot of info on Bethany (or Elizabeth) but hit a brick wall on William. This may help. Do you have any more info on William Hawkins? This is my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. Thanks

Sorry, I made a typo on previous message. William Hawkins & Bethany Cochrum married in 1838 not 1938.

Would any of you who are on this thread consider doing the 23 & Me DNA test which is currently priced at $99. I am trying to confirm Spillers "Cousins" that were matched on Ancestry.com DNA last month But plan on also doing full test for $99 on the 23&me site. We are fairly sure that both parties are descended from George Spillers Sr who died in 1833 in Greenville Co SC. One ( my Husband) is from son Carey Spillers b 1804 Sc died Marshall Co Ms and the other is from one of the other 2 brothers' child who migrated to Arkansas
