I am hoping someone can help me find the names of the parents for Earl Harold McLeod. He was married in Eau Claire, WI on 5-15-1937 to maybe Mable M. Unknown. He was born Harold VanRuth in Wisconsin about 1907. He later took the maiden name of his mother, McLeod, as his last name. I'm hoping to find his mother's first name and want to verify that Leo VanRuth was his father. Thank you so much for any help with this.

Mrs. Leo Van Ruth passed away at the home of her Mother, Mrs. Edward Dotzenrod near Brill? September 25, leaving a husband and one son, besides mother, stepfather, three sisters and one brother. Her maiden name was Mabel Bates.

I am not even going to try and straighten out the relationships at this point!

Leo Van Ruth died in Calaveras County, California on March 20, 1949. You can write to the County archives there and see if you they can look for an obit, which should hopefully confirm he is the father of Earl Harold.

There is a marriage here for a Leo Van Ruth and Amelia Bameny in 1898. In 1920, his wife is "Elmaria". In 1920, he is married to a Susan. He married Alice in 1931

Leo Ned Van Ruth was married on 09 Oct 1898 in Wood County to Mrs. Amelia Barney daughter of Caroline Brooks & James Withers. The parents of Leo were Mary Franklin & Hildebrand Van Ruth.

Elmira McCloud born april 1878 in Wisconsin married LaFayette Shadduck on October 5, 1895. He died on Nov 6, 1900.
