Looking for information on John M. Shaw. He died in train wreck on way home from WWII Pacific tour with Army Air Corps. He parted ship in California and was taking a train home when he was killed. Probably 1945-1946. Possibly near Illinois.

Big accident in Naperville, IL, on 25 Aug 1946 - check Chicago newspapers

The big accident for these years was Naperville Illinois on the CB&Q on the 25th April 1946. The trains originated in the west and 46 were killed. I do not have a casualty list but as the wreck made all the Chicago papers a list should not be difficult to come by
