I am looking for any relations of Andrew Sims he was born about 1820 in Ireland and came to Canada before 1857.
He was married to Mary Foy

you can go on the 1901 & 1911 census, http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/index.html and type in the Sims name and then the first names of your relatives and even the birth "year" and you'll find some of them and their children listed. In the 1901 Joseph Sims's wife, Mary is listed but in the 1911 she is listed under "Alice". Check it out, it is a start. Geraldine

Hi i have by chance been googleing names when i came to this site, i have a cousin that has been doing a family tree as our grandparents were brother and sister.I remember him telling me that grandads grandfather came from canada and he married a native lady (foy) please contact me regards danny.Grandads name was albert sims his brother was roy sims they had several sisters they resided in perth western australia

Could you tell me the name of your Grandfathers Grandfather.
The earliest Sims I have here in Canada is Andrew S. Sims who married Mary Foy.
Andrew came from Ireland was born in 1815, married in 1854 in Quebec, moved to Ontario in about 1856 and died there in 1906.
His wife Mary was born in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland in 1834 and she dies in 1898 in Ontario.
They had the following children:
William Wilson b. 1855, Quebec d.1927
John Foy b. 1857 Ontario d. 1930
Andrew H. b. 1859 d. 1927 he and all the other children are born in Ontario
Joesph Hugh b.1865, d.?
Annie Rebbecca Cornwal b. 1867 d.?
Thomas Daniel b. 1868 d.?
George Marshall Wood b. 1873 d. 1957in Saskatchewan
Adaliza b. 1874 d.?
Matthew J. b. 1875 d. ?

I have more info on the Sims family. Also in contact with a cousin who has family info. I'm a Foy decendant. Elizabeth Carson Foy came to Canada from Ireland in 1846. She was a widow with 5 children.
