I have a surname in my family that I am finding very hard to find out about. It is Corsep, i have managed to find very little and have come to a brick wall.
There is a H. Corsep (born 1882) that left liverpool in 1901 and it says the destination port was Boston. The only problem is that although this record shows up on there isnt any records of it on Ancestry. Can anyone help me in any way, as any information I can find on this family will really help me. I would be very grateful

Admin note:

It might help if you'll provide a little more information, such as the name of the ship on which your ancestor sailed, the month of sailing, and names of any others sailing with him. Good luck!

I don't know any other information apart from that. The only information I know is what I've already put down. I'm just trying to find as much out about the family as possible really as I've only managed to get back to 1899 when my great great grandad ralph corsep got married. I'm trying to find out where he came from originally.

P.S. The name Corsep is unusual. Are you trying to trace the Corsep origins to find out if they came here from a

According to another public Family Tree on Ancestry, Ralph was using the name KIRSOP about the time he married Jessie Evelyn Everett. This will be why you could never find any trace of him.

He was born 4th Nov 1877 at Gateshead, Yorkshire, but wasn't christened until 4 Mar 1891 at Linthorpe, Yorkshire.
His parents were William Kirsop and Mary Ann.

On the 1881 census Ralph is at 8 Lambton Terrace, follows...

Hiya thanks for your reply. Since I posted this thread I have found lots of information out about the family. And your right my great great grandad was actually called Kirsop and it at some point got changed to Corsep which is why I was having so much trouble finding out about the family. Thanks for taking the time to reply :)
