A short death notice appeared int he February 12, 1881 Tomah Weekly Journal." MAXWELL--At Reels Valley , Monroe County, Anslem Maxwell, aged 27 years , 9 months and 12 days ,of consuption."
And in another paragraph down the page: "Thirty-Seven teams came into town in the funeral procession of Anslem Maxwell, notice of whose death is published in this paper."
