We are trying to find information on our grandmother's sister, Sara Koelman. We believe her married name may have been Kuim and that she may have had a son Keese Kuim. We have found her birth record. She was born October 18, 1899 in Haarlemmermeer. Her mother's was Catharina Elisabeth Onkenhout and her Father was Gerrit Koelman and that is all We have been able to find out about her. We are looking for her marriage and death records. If anyone has any information it will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't got the answer on your question but did you know that after Sara's mother died in 1909 later the father Gerrit Koelman was deprived of his parental rights and Sara was send in 1911, together with 2 sisters and 2 brothers , to the children-home Zandbergen in Amersfoort ?

Zandbergen still exists and they still have the old files.
You could ask them for information. ( use the e-mail address in this link ) http://www.zandbergenjeugd.nl/index.php?page=oude-dossiers

Because of Dutch law you may be dead in the water

Birth registers are open to the public and are available in the state archives after 100 years, marriage registers and marriage supplements after 75 years, and death registers after 50 years.

I have been using https://www.wiewaswie.nl for most of my research. I found only one Kuim. I am wondering if that is the correct spelling? One of my aunts has a letter sent by her family many years ago about her death so I think that is where they got the spelling. Hopefully she will send me a copy of the letter. Are you related to us?

Thanks,
Alieda

By the way, dad Gerrit Koelman, living in Ilpendam, was present at the wedding and consenting. So she must have had contact with him after she left the home, since I guess that's how she met her husband.....

Are you talking Maria Petronella or Sara? Maria met her husband at the home. They married when they got to the USA.
