kathyward1954, since your post is about Windows 8 and not specific to Ancestry or to FTM, it is appropriate for this board.

There is an Ancestry app for Windows 8 which I have been using. It is quite different from the Ancestry app for IPADs. It does show information about individuals and families in your Ancestry trees and hints of new information and a map of locations where people lived. The problem I am having is a sync problem with my current trees on Ancestry.com. It is rarely up-to-date and does occasionally bomb out. Has anyone else tried it?
